How to Get Into the Action

If you have a friend that already plays, they have have everything you need to get into the game! If you're looking to GM a session, or just want to explore the lore of the Alien universe, read on!

Below are some affiliate links for things I myself have purchased and tried out. Stay frosty!

Campaigns + Necessities

You'll need the AGDitC box to start; has the first few missions from the Aliens movie. The GAFHYB expansion contains further missions from the movie. You'll also need snips and glue to assemble the models. A crafting mat will also go a long way to saving your dinning room table from mishaps while assembling your collection!

Character Addons

While you get a handful of characters in the above boxes, these two sets will incorporate more of the marines and civilians from the movie.

Extras

For added immersion and to really make your games stand out, highly recommend the 3D Assets and Hazards kit, as it upgrades the flat cardboard pieces with nicer models. You can also find 3rd party tokens to replace the various tokens for your game as an added touch. Last, a set of dashboards can help keep your tabletop clean and character loadouts organized.

GF9 also made boxes containing extra models for the xenos, queen, and characters, which aside from the extra xenos, I think aren't really necessary if you've already gotten the above box sets.

Storage / Transport

I think the big game boxes could do well enough for storing and transporting all the components if packed with care. Else, this is what I use:

Painting

I had my marines/civs commissioned painted. For the xenos, they already come as black so, that would suffice for many. I would up priming mine black, and painting over it black again with some silvery highlights to make them pop. Another fun idea was taking a soldering iron and melting a few places around the xeno bases to look like acid.

Army Building

For party composition, I generally have just gone with whomever I wanted to play with. Do some experimenting to see how each person's abilities synergize well with others!
