Got the War for the Pacific starter arrived, as well as a few other additions to help expand the collection and give us some more options for fleet building. Hoping to have everything assembled and painted up in time for a game in honor of Veteran's Day.
First course of action was to rinse the resin, leaving them to dry overnight before prep, assembly and painting can commence. With 30+ models to do but that didn't take overly long. Got a few models used from the good folks over at Noble Knight Games, should wind up saving me a little assembly and paint time.
Meanwhile, got to laminating and cutting the ship cards. Bit of a sucker for protecting my game components and, didn't have any sleeves to fit these big boys.

While waiting for the other batch to dry, doing some touch-up on the pre-owned ones I got in. Previous owner was a decent enough painter, but whoever they were, had no clue how to take care of minis, as several of the bits were broken off or horribly bent. And that just won't do! Went back over the water to blend the top and sides with the same shade of Army Painter's Magic Blue and one coat of Gravelord Grey (I believe the Japanese ships were darker in color than the US's, so they'll get another coat of) before calling it quits for the night. Update to come once everything is done!
